PDP Suspends Baraje, Oyinlola, Kazaure, Sam Jaja, Others [Video]

The Peoples emocratic Party (PDP) has suspended the quartet of Abubakar Baraje, Sam Sam Jaja, Ibrahim Kazaure and Olagunsoye Oyinlola for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.

The suspended members have been asked to report to the party’s disciplinary committee. The party further advised members of the party not to engage in any form of party activities with them.

The suspended officials are reported to be the main pillars behind the G-7 governors in the New PDP.

In a communique read by the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Olisah Metuh, the party noted that “The National Working Committee, In line with its constitutional right and provisions of the constitution, has after preliminary hearing, as stated in our constitution suspended forthwith from the PDP the following; Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, Dr. Sam-Sam Jaja, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure”

The suspension according to Metuh “is for breach on Sections 58(1) (B) (G) (H) and (I).” adding that the “provision of our party which stated that anyone who does or say anything likely to bring the party into disrepute, hatred or contempt has committed a disciplinary offence”.

“Anyone who engages in disorderly conduct at meetings or rallies at any party functions including walk outs at conventions is guilty for an offence against our constitution” he said.

Metuh further added that “anyone who engages in unauthorized publicity of disputes within the party or creates a parallel party organ at any level is guilty of an offence against the constitution of the party”.

Suspension Vindicates Our Protest

Meanwhile, the suspended Olagunsoye Oyinlola said the suspension of the quartet is a vindication of the injustices they have been protesting against noting that ”This is part of the impunity we are protesting against. None of us has been queried or requested to give explanations for any alleged offence”.

He also wondered why “they decided to leave out the serving state governors, senators and members of the House of Representatives who have been very vocal” if they are reacting to the issue of the new PDP.

He maintained that it is “all an attempt to circumvent the ruling of the Court of Appeal. Certainly, the last has not been heard about this matter and I am sure that truth will prevail over falsehood”
