The Deji of Akure of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida, the monarch that presides over Akureland, the Ondo State capital is dead.
Details of his passage was sketchy as of press time but Punchng correspondent learnt on Sunday that the monarch died around 4am as a result of an unknown complication.
According to sources in the palace, answering the phone call, said in a local dialect:
‘Oba ti w'aja’ meaning the ‘the King is gone’.
He also disclosed that the monarch died in his palace as palace guards tried to rescue him.
The 63-year-old late monarch was born into the Ojijigogun ruling house. Oba Adebiyi Adesidan ascended the throne on August 12, 2013. He was recalled from London shortly after the former Deji was dethroned for abusing his wife.

A highly competent source confirmed the death but said such announcement could only be made after seven days in accordance with tradition.
