Gunmen Kill Four In Attack On Church

Kenya: Gunmen kill four in attack on Church
Two gunmen stormed a church near the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa on Sunday and shot indiscriminately at worshippers, killing four people and wounding about 17 others, Per Second News gathered.
"Two people wearing masks entered the church and then started spraying bullets at us,” according to a worshipper.
The attack, which left about 17 wounded, came despite increased security in Kenyan cities amid heightened warnings of extremist violence.

Two people were killed instantly, and two later died of their injuries, the Red Cross said. Robert Mureithi, a local police chief, said: "They were shot by gunmen who shot indiscriminately at worshippers and then fled.".
Witnesses said the attackers burst in through the church's back door before shouting out and opening fire on the congregation.
"Both carried big guns and began shooting all over the place. I fell to the ground and could hear screams," said Lilian Omondi, who was leading a prayer meeting at the time.
Blood-spattered Bibles and overturned plastic chairs and bullet casings lay strewn across the floor.
The attackers tried to raid a second church nearby but fled when armed police on patrol in the area appeared. A top Interior Ministry official later said they had escaped, and there was no immediate claim of responsibility.
