Defying Gravity: Still Life In The Human Form


The artist Johan Lorbeer (www.johanlorbeer.com) leaning on the wall of a bookstore in Linz/Austria. 

This is part of the exhibition Schaurausch (www.schaurausch.at), an event presenting art in 50 shop windows. Some kind of teaser for "Linz 2009" when the city becomes Cultural Capital of Europe for one year.



John Lorbeer put on a stunning performance that defied gravity when he hovered above the ground with just one hand resting against a wall. He remained in this position for hours, while being surrounded by onlookers. So how did he do it? His real arm was inside his clothing while a fake arm was connected to a harness
