Newborn Babies Wrapped In Christmas Stockings By Nurses As A Gift For Delighted Parents

Staff at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center wrapped up the babies and knitted dozens of cute woolly hats for the tots on Christmas Day

Some of the best Christmas presents come bundled up in stockings and these newborns are no exception.
Parents whose babies were tucked up in the festive footwear at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center got to take their special stockings home with them.
The nurses at Magee-Women's Hospital have held the adorable Christmas Day event for several years and give away dozens of the tots' hand-knit red hats every Christmas.
Staff on the maternity ward shared the picture on Facebook and it quickly went viral.

A message accompanying the pictures read: "'If you've walked through the Magee lobby recently, you may have noticed a group of women surrounded by construction tape."
"Known as the "Magee Knitters", the group started in September 2014 with a mission to make caps for the newborn babies at the hospital."
But staff weren't the only people to get little bundles of joy involved in festive fun.
