Daughter of a Renowned Journalist and Retired Director in the Ministry of Information Who Stabbed Husband to Death, Remanded in Prison


Victoria Ambakadrimo 28 years old, who works at the Bayelsa State Council for Arts and Culture, stabbed her husband, Henry Gagariga with a kitchen knife on the throat around 11pm on Wednesday, February 4th 2015, after a quarrel ensued at their home along Ebisam Road, Akenfa, Bayelsa state.

An appeal by the prosecuting counsel to have Victoria remanded at the Okaka medium security prison in Yenagoa until final judgment is read was granted.
Though frail looking Victoria pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of murder leveled against, she sobbed over and again as she was escorted to prison at the end of the court session.

Victoria stabbed her husband, Henry on the throat on Wednesday; he later died in the hospital.

The presiding judge, Justice A.S Rotimi, adjourned proceeding to 18th June 2015, to enable the prosecuting (the state) hand over certain forensic evidences to the defence counsels before hearing commence.

The alleged husband slayer before killing her husband works at the Bayelsa State Council for Arts and Culture, and is reportedly the daughter of a renowned journalist and retired director in the state Ministry of Information.


The life of a legal practitioner, Mr. Henry Gagariga, a legal practitioner was tragically stabbed to death in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Victoria, 28, sent the 33-year-old Gagariga to his untimely grave at their residence along Ebisam Road in Akenfa.
She allegedly stabbed him on the neck with a kitchen knife following a quarrel caused by “a minor domestic disagreement.”
Sources said the duo cohabited for some years before legalizing their union in Yenagoa last June.
It was gathered that their union had yet to produce children. Gagariga was said to have lost a lot of
blood and later died at a hospital where he was rushed to for treatment. His body had been deposited at an undisclosed mortuary in the state.
