Bindi Irwin wins Dancing With The Stars' coveted Mirrorball Trophy
There were tears of joy for Steve Irwin's daughter Bindi as she won America's Dancing With The Stars - nine years after her father's tragic death.
The 17-year-old Australian had already been pegged as the favorite among fans and judges for most of season 21 of the hit show.
And the hype proved to be entirely justified when she was crowned champion after performing a series of dances with her pro partner Derek Hough that astounded everyone, after an emotional freestyle which paid tribute to her late father, Steve.
The victory came after a teary Bindi praised her father, known globally for his wildlife show 'The Crocodile Hunter'. He was killed at the age of 44 after being struck by a stingray barb to the heart in Queensland, Australia in 2006.
