4-Years Remembrance Of The Missing NTA Presenter, Aremu Gawat Get Fidau Prayer On July 10th

This is a reminder to our earlier report about the 4years remembrance of the missing NTA presenter, Aremu Gawat.

Come July 10th 2016, at the Muri International Television ‘MITV’ premises, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos, wave making Islamic musician, Alhaja Rukayat Gawat-Oyefeso will stage a Fidau prayer and a big remembrance party for her missing dad, Alhaji Aremu Rasqak Gawat, who was a renowned broadcaster on Nigerian Television Authority NTA.

He was declared missing in a controversial circumstance of Lagos exactly four years. The prayer, we learnt is put together due to a verse in the holy Qu’ran, which stated that ‘if anybody in Islam declared missing and not found after four-year of missing, the family should organize a fidua prayer in remembrance of the person, either dead or still alive.’

The programme, event with the presence of top Islamic singers in Nigeria on stage to perform will also has Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello and Sheik Daud Abdul Majeed Eleha (Alfa Nla) in attendance as the distinguished clerics of the day to preach the gospel.


From the time, his sudden disappearance has remained a mystery to many, with so many unanswered questions, while series of special prayer sessions were organized for the missing ace broadcaster and former staff of NTA, Tejuosho, Yaba, Lagos.

The circumstances that led to the sudden disappearance of Gawat, was described as ‘mysterious’ by many, but with optimism and prayers, the missing TV presenter could be found.

Meanwhile, his daughter, Alhaja Rukayat Gawat-Oyefeso who is currently leading in the Islamic music industry, recently released a threefold album called ‘Ramadan Special’ which consists of ‘Alao Jowujowu’ featuring Suleiman Alao Malaika, Temitope, followed by a joint effort which features over 20 Islamic actors is titled ‘Ramadan Kareem.’

The easy-going singer made her name with the release of her first album and since then has performed at several big Islamic functions. Her musical albums include ‘Imole,’ ‘My Father’, ‘Arinakore,’ ‘Aye Le’, Iyawo Obun and ‘Agboko L’Ori,’ as well as ‘Ogbe-Okan’.
