Assistant Principal Kills Pregnant Mistress Who Threatened to Tell His Wife About Their affair

Robert Marks Lyntell Washington

A Baton Rouge assistant principal is accused of killing his pregnant co-workerafter she threatened to expose their affair to his wife.
Robert Marks, 39, was arrested on June 9 and charged with 1st degree murder and feticide in the shooting death of pregnant colleague Lyntell Washington, 40.
Washington’s body was found in a ditch in Iberville Parish on Tuesday, eight days after she went missing.

Marks, who has been in custody since the day Washington vanished, admitted to their affair during a police interrogation. But he has since refused to cooperate further with police.
Marks is an assistant principal at Brookstown Magnet Honors Academy, where Washington worked as an instructional specialist, according to WAFB News.
Washington’s 3-year-old daughter was found alone near her mother’s abandoned vehicle on June 9.
The little girl told police “Mr. Robbie” hurt her mother. She said she heard a “bang” and saw her mother “shaking.”
“She further stated that Mr. Robbie was trying to clean the blood and that her mother was ‘in the lake,'” according to the police report.
A co-worker told authorities that Washington was pregnant with Marks’ baby and Washington threatened to expose their affair to his wife.
The colleague said Marks knew Washington was 5 months pregnant with his child.
Police took screenshots of text messages exchanged between Marks and Washington. In one text Washington asked him if he was “attempting to avoid his responsibilities with our unborn daughter.”
Baton Rouge Police Cpl. L’Jean Mckneely Jr. told the Advocate that Marks showed no emotion during the interrogation.
Marks is being held without bond.
