Again, Senate Rejects Nomination Of Magu As EFCC Boss

Image result for Magu as substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Nigerian Senate has again rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Senate had earlier refused to clear Magu for the job, citing a DSS report indicting the EFCC boss of corrupt practices.

When asked by Senator Isah Misau, why the EFCC has failed to investigate Godwin Emeifele, the Central Bank Governor, who released money to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Magu said the EFCC has invited all who needs to be invited.

Asked about the amount that has been recovered so far by the anti-graft agency, Magu said it would be very difficult for him to say.

On whistle-blower policy

The EFCC boss said the whistle-blower policy was still being fine-tuned by the agency.
Magu also said he would not be surprised if whistle-blowers are to take the security agents to his house because he now has a big house.
Ibrahim Magu's nomination and confirmation as Chairman @officialEFCC has been rejected by majority of Senators.
By popular votes, the nomination of Acting Chairman of @officialEFCC is hereby rejected
Sen Misau ask is it body language of @NGRPresident that @officialEFCC uses to fight corruption since people close to President not probed?
Magu said no body language in the fight against corruption. Said the commitment of @MBuhari to the fight against corruption not in doubt

Magu said @officialEFCC doesn't fight corruption alone that he is aware @NGRSenate fights corruption as well.
